The BK 206 from FOSTEX for 20 cm horn drivers replaces the old narrow bass horn BK 201 from the 80s and 90s of the last century. It is optimally designed for the use of the extremely popular FE 206 NV, which in the backloaded horn BK 206, with its magnificent playfulness, fascinates many horn fans again and again. Compared to the old BK 201, the BK 206 offers an extended bass range thanks to its larger enclosure volume. We have developed a correction network for the FE 206 NV which can be necessary in some cases. With it, the somewhat rising mid-high range can be attenuated in precisely measured amounts. As a result of this linearisation, the bass range also emerges more strongly. The BK206 develops more bass volume. The overall sound pressure decreases in favour of a balanced music reproduction. In general, and especially with tube operation, however, a correction is not absolutely necessary with placement close to the wall.

The fascinating explosive dynamics of the full-range broadband loudspeaker are thus fully retained, since it is driven directly by the amplifier without upstream crossover components in the signal path (quasi ACTIVE OPERATION).

When operating with tube or Class D amplifiers, however, the usual impedance correction (RC element parallel to the chassis) should not be dispensed with.
