Once upon a time …there was an Eckhorn. The story of the Eckhorn could also begin with such fairy-tale words, when one considers the age of this loudspeaker system. However, it is more topical today than ever: hardly a technical book in which the system according to Paul Klipsch is not described, hardly a specialist magazine that has not reported in detail on an Eckhorn. Anyone who has once heard this horn can understand why this system has written 60 years of history.
Equipped with the largest JABO spherical wave horn – the KH-72 – we are bringing our newly developed ECKHORN STATE OF THE ART onto the market.
Spherical wave horns have the advantage that they radiate evenly in all directions – without vertical directivity as with radial horns, and create a plastic 3D spatiality.
In addition, they also have an enormous visual impact. For our top project we chose the outstanding STUDIO COAXIAL DRIVER BMS 4590 in the mid-/high-frequency range. Since here all frequencies are radiated practically from a common acoustic centre, one can speak of an almost ideal POINT SOUND SOURCE!
The tremendous efficiency of this large horn is approx. 98 dB/W/m!
In the bass horn – which is identical in enclosure to the ECKHORN STANDARD – we use a professional woofer which in our opinion is also perfectly suited to horn projects, the BEYMA 15B100R-G/H. The crossover, finally, is elaborately fitted exclusively with exclusive high-end components from the company Mundorf. An investment that is clearly audible.
The ECKHORN WOODEN KIT is supplied by us in original 13 mm wall thickness MDF!
On request also in double wall thickness birch plywood.
For wiring the crossover and the loudspeakers we recommend loss-free silver cables. All in all: AN ABSOLUTE DREAM LOUDSPEAKER – A “HOLOGRAPHIC 3D SOUND PROJECTOR” – THAT IS SECOND TO NONE!!
