As a limited special edition, FOSTEX brought the mini full-range driver FE83-SOL onto the market in 2017.

An enclosure construction plan was, as always, supplied with the loudspeaker. We built the dainty bass horn BK83 SOL and sent it to HOBBYHIFI for testing. On this occasion I also added the two other currently available 80 mm FOSTEX full-range drivers – FE83EN and FF85WK – straight away for testing in the BK83 SOL enclosure.

The astonishing result:

It was not the FE83-SOL that came off best in all disciplines, but the FF85 WK!

From now on, this one therefore counts as our insider tip for use in small horn enclosures.

With or without correction, this is left to the listening preference of the user.
